Hay Compere PLLC Welcomes W. Derek Darby

[AUSTIN, TX]—The law firm of Hay Compere PLLC (www.haycompere.com) is pleased to announce that W. Derek Darby, previously a shareholder with Shanks Darby, PC, in Houston, has joined the firm as a Partner.

Over the past five years, Derek has practiced law in the areas of Real Estate, Compliance and Finance. He has assisted real estate developers, owners and investors in acquiring, developing, leasing, financing and disposing of real estate. In addition, Derek has represented a variety of financial institutions in structuring, negotiating and documenting numerous types of residential and commercial real estate lending transactions. Derek brings additional experience and expertise to the already strong real estate practice developed by the firm.

In January, 2009, Derek was nominated by Texas House Speaker Joe Straus and appointed by Governor Rick Perry as a Commissioner of the Texas Facilities Commission. Mr. Darby graduated cum laude from Angelo State University with a B.B.A. in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate Finance. He earned his J.D. from South Texas College of Law.
