[AUSTIN, TX]— The Austin-based law firm of Hay Compere PLLC is pleased to announce that Colin H. Newberry has joined the Firm. With extensive experience ranging from emergency ex parte hearings to appeals, Colin is a valuable addition to the Firm’s litigation section. He will continue the tradition of service that has been cultivated by Hay Compere team, and will represent clients in business matters, real estate, family, construction, and countless other fields of law.

A native Austinite, Colin received his undergraduate degree from The University of Georgia, and earned his law degree from SMU’s Dedman School of Law in Dallas, where he earned Order of the Barristers, and was selected as the Kennedy Memorial Scholar for his service to the University and community. Upon graduation, he joined the Dallas office of Koons Fuller, P.C., the state’s largest family law firm. While there he was a member of the prestigious Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Leadership Class, and was able to continue on the involvement in law school advocacy by coaching Moot Court for SMU.

“I am eager to return to the city where my grandfather, father, and I grew up,” said Newberry. ”I am proud to join Hay Compere, and look forward to continuing its tradition of giving back to the community in order to make it a place that the next generation of will be proud to grow up in as well.”

Colin has already begun his volunteer efforts in Austin. Recently, he was recognized as a leader in the pro bono community by the Austin Bar Association/ AYLA Leadership Academy, as he was selected as one of ten five nominees to compete for the title of “Pro Bono King,” a fundraising effort in support of the programs at Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid.
